1. Check the Batteries

All types of touchless Moen faucets come with DC and AC options. The faucet requires electricity to turn it on and off the water automatically.

So if your smart faucet stops working, the first thing you need to check is the battery.

Moen smart faucet will not work if your batteries are low or dead.

In this case, you will need to change the batteries.

Check the Batteries

Moen claims the batteries can run the faucet for two years after installing them. Thus, if your batteries are more than two years old, it is time to replace them.

On the other hand, if you are using AC power, ensure the smart faucet is receiving electricity from the outlet. If you discover that the outlet beneath the sink is not working, replace it. 

2. Check the Supply Line

Check the supply lines to ensure they are turned on. The smart faucet will not flow water if the supply lines are closed.

Additionally, if you command a smart faucet to flow hot water, but it flows cold water, then your hot supply lines may be off.

Similarly, the faucet will not float cold water if the cold-water supply lines are off. Therefore, make sure the supply lines are tightened and turned on if your smart faucet does not work. 

3. Check the Cable

The Moen smart faucet necessitates the use of some cables. The cables are connected to the control box and the battery box. To get the faucet working again, check all of the cable attachments.

A smart faucet may not function if a cable is loose. Therefore, check and fix the cables as necessary.

4. Check the Internet Connection

An internet connection is necessary for the Moen smart faucet to function with voice control. A WiFi connection is required because you will need to command through Alexa or Google Assistant.

If your Moen smart faucet is not working after instructing your voice controller, check if your WiFi connection is functioning. If the WiFi is not functioning, fix it or contact your internet service provider.

5. Ensure Giving the Proper Command

Your voice controller will not instruct your smart faucet to operate if you don’t give it the proper command. So, ensure you are giving proper keywords according to your voice assistant. 

Such as for Google Assistant, you need to say, “Hey, Google, ask Moen to turn the water on the Moen water.” On the other hand, if you are using Alexa, you have to say, “Alexa, ask Moen to turn on the water.  

6. Check the Moen Faucet App

If your Moen faucet app has some issues, the faucet will not work. Many reasons can cause the not working Moen app.

The reasons that cause issues to the Moen app are loading errors, server errors, connection errors, or Screen Freeze.

To fix the issue check the internet connection is available. Moreover, if your phone does not have enough storage, it may create an issue with the app.

Your app will not update if your phone space runs out. The app may not update due to insufficient storage space.

7. Reset Smart Faucet

You can reset your smart faucet if you are unable to identify the cause of not working your faucet. Consequently, resetting your device will delete all of your pre-sets. So, you will need to reset

To reset the faucet put a paperclip into the reset button on the control box, wait two beeps or three to five seconds, and then take out the paperclip.
