Reasons and Solutions  for Moen Touchless Faucet Not Working

When your touchless faucet stops working, you must investigate the root cause of the problem. To determine the reason, you must inspect some parts of the Moen faucet. Otherwise, you won’t be able to repair it. Some instructions that you should follow are given below.

1. Check the Installation Process and Protective Labels

Due to improper installation, your faucet may fail to work smoothly. So check the installation process to ensure you have installed it correctly. 

Another reason could be not removing the protective labels. The touchless Moen faucet has protective labels on them. If you do not remove them, the faucet may not work.

You will need to follow this step only when you have installed the faucet for the first time.

After checking the installation process and protective labels, move to the steps below.

However, you can skip this step if you did not install your faucet for the first time.

2. Check the Cables

First, you need to check the cable connections. In some cases, the issue may be as simple as a loose connection in a critical area of the faucet.

If your faucet’s cable becomes loose, it may affect its overall functionality. As a result, each connection must be secure. So, if you discover a loose cable, you must tighten it.

Tighten the Cables

Moen touchless faucet requires the installation of a control box beneath the sink. The control box has three push-fit connections on the top and one on the bottom.

Several cables connect to the box to supply power to the system. If these cables get loose, the faucet will stop working.

Check that the cable and power source cables (battery pack or AC adapter) are tightly and securely connected. Simply tighten or resecure the cables and connections if they have become loose.

3. Check the Batteries

If there isn’t a problem with the cables connecting, there might be a problem with the batteries. Check the batteries if you are using a battery pack.

It should be noted that the  Moen touchless faucet works with both AC and DC power. So Moen touchless kitchen faucet doesn’t require batteries if you use AC power.

The battery could stop the faucet from working due to improper installation. Additionally, loose batteries can make the faucet operate erratically. Using the wrong type of battery can also prevent the faucet from working.

Reinstall or Replace the Batteries

Reinstall the batteries if you discover they need to be fastened correctly. You must replace your battery if it runs out of power or becomes low.

In this case, you should use Alkaline batteries. Avoid using lithium batteries. Users recommend using Alkaline batteries.

There are two sensors available on the  Moen touchless kitchen faucet. On the top of the faucet and one to the faucet’s spout.

These sensors have a feature to turn themselves on and off as needed. Ensure the sensor are activated if they abruptly stop working for no apparent reason.

Enable the Sensors

You will need to enable the sensors if it gets disabled. Put your hand over the top of the faucet for 5 seconds. When the Ready Sensors sensors start to flash blue, that means the sensor has been activated.

However, Moen sensors stop functioning in faucets. A blue light is not displayed, for instance, nor does it turn on or off itself.

How Do You Reset a Moen Touchless Faucet?

If your Moen touchless faucet is not working and you changed the battery, but still it’s not functioning, try to reset the factory. Some users mentioned that by resetting their faucet, they were able to get it working.

The process of resetting a Moen touchless faucet is given below −

1. Disconnect the power supply from the control box underneath the sink.
2. Remove the black cable.
3. Wait a minute after removing both cables for the control box to reset.
4. Make sure there is nothing in front of the sensors above the sink. Then reattach the cables to the control box.
5. Do not touch the faucet for two minutes to allow the system to power on and cycle as needed.
6. Check the faucet to ensure that the reset resolves the issue.
