Delta Touch Faucet Blinking Red? Here’s How to Fix It!
If you have a Delta Touch faucet, you might already know how convenient it is.
Delta has revolutionized the faucet industry with this technology. However, it is not a tech without flaws.
For example, suddenly, you can see that the Delta Touch faucet is blinking red.
Rapid red blinking on the Delta Touch faucet means the battery is about to die soon. It lets you know that you should replace the batteries as quickly as possible. Otherwise, you will be stuck with the manual valve.
But is that all that red blinking tells you? Keep on reading to know what else the flashing red LED means.
Delta Touch Faucet Blinking Red 3 Times – What Does It Mean?
There are differences between the red LED blinking three times and the LED blinking constantly. Three times blinking of the LED tells you that the battery needs to be replaced.
On the other hand, as discussed earlier, the constant blinking states that the battery is about to die soon. And there is a difference between these two alerts.
For the three blinks, you will be able to use the faucet for a while without replacing the battery. It is just letting you know that the batteries are nearly at a complete-discharged point.
On the other hand, the constant blinking warns you that battery failure is imminent.
You can no longer use the touch functionality if you do not change the batteries after the constant flashing.
Delta Touch Faucet Not Working Blinking Red Light – How to Fix
No matter whether the LED light is constantly blinking red or is blinking three times, you need to replace the battery. Doing so will fix the blinking issue and make the LED show normal status again. If you need any help, you can refer to this guide on how to replace Delta faucet battery.
However, if you have replaced the battery and the faucet is still blinking red light, it means that there is an issue with the solenoid valve.
In that case, here’s what you can do −
1. Stop the Water Flow
First, you need to shut down the flow of water. You can do so by turning the shut-off valve found under the sink.
But if there is no shut-off valve in your setup, you must turn the main water line of your house off.
2. Locate the Solenoid Valve
The solenoid valve will be under the sink. It will be right near the battery compartment.
And if you can not find it, refer to the user manual. There will be visual images that will help you find the valve.
3. Remove the Mounting Shank and Disconnect the Hose
You will find a clip on the housing. Pull on it and remove the mounting shank. Aftward, disconnect the hose that connects the faucet to the solenoid.
4. Observe the Solenoid
Turn the main line on and see whether there is any water flow through the solenoid. Is the water flowing, but the faucet is not offering any? Then the solenoid should be replaced. But if the water flow is normal, then the solenoid is good and does not require any replacement.
5. Disconnect the Battery and Pull the Wire out from the Solenoid Housing
Locate the battery and disconnect the wire that is on the solenoid assembly. This wire has a similar look to a headphone jack.
6. Install a New Solenoid and Put Things Back in Place
Carefully place the new solenoid and assemble all the parts. If you need help with installing the new solenoid, you should check the user manual.
As mentioned before, there are pictures that will guide you through.
Where Is the Delta Touch Faucet Reset Button?
As discussed earlier, the LED blinking issue will go away when you replace the batteries.
However, if for any reason you want to reset the faucet, you have to first understand that there is no physical reset switch on the Delta faucet.
In other words, you can not just reset the faucet by pressing a switch.
But you can indeed manually reset it. Now, why would you want to reset the Delta Touch faucet?
Resetting the faucet can help you fix some of the issues related to the LED light. And here’s how you can reset the Delta Touch faucets.
1. Turn the Water Line off
Before doing anything, you should turn the flow of water. Shut the water line valve that is under the sink.
However, if there is no shut-off valve under the sink, you should turn the main water line off.
Turning the flow of water will prevent any accidents that may occur during the resetting process.
2. Locate the Battery Pack
Once you have turned the water line off, locate the battery pack. The Touch faucets will have it under the sink.
And it is basically a black housing with a thin wire attached to it.
3. Disconnect the Battery Pack and Wait for a Minute
After locating the battery, hold the lid of the battery pack and gently pull it up while holding the bottom. This will disconnect the battery connection.
But be extra careful while opening the lid. There is a thin wire on the top that can get damaged if you do not handle the pack with care.
Nonetheless, after disconnecting the battery, wait for about a minute and put the lid back in place. That’s it; you have successfully reset the Delta Touch faucet.
Final Words
To recapitulate, the Delta touch faucet blinking red means low battery power. If it is constantly flashing, you should replace the battery immediately.
But when it is blinking three times, you can keep using the old batteries for a whole. However, keep the replacement batteries ready.
